The German American Cultural Foundation and the Federal Service Language Academy (FSLA) are pleased to announce the creation of a new addition to the FSLA Program at the University of North Georgia: Berlin 2015.

FSLA’s Berlin 2015 is a three-week program giving students a fully immersive German-language experience in Berlin, Germany. The program features intensive language classes, cultural excursions, and home stay arrangements with German families located in Berlin. Students receive credit for both high school (German III, IV, or V) and university-level German (German 1002) courses.

FSLA Berlin 2015 is open to rising juniors and seniors who have taken German 1 and 2 (or the equivalent) in high school. To qualify, students must also be admitted to the University of North Georgia (UNG), which requires a 3.25 minimum cumulative GPA in required high school curriculum course work and a 970 minimum SAT score or 21 composite minimum ACT score.

The program will take place from July 5th through 24th in Berlin, Germany. Students are responsible for a program fee of $3,500, which includes airfare to Germany, most meals, and other program expenses. Tuition for the program is $929.72, but in-state students from Georgia will have their tuition paid by Accel.

FSLA Berlin 2015 is made possible in part thanks to the German American Cultural Foundation, which provides the program with a grant of $1,500. This grant helps sponsor tuition for exceptional students participating in the program.

The German American Cultural Foundation wishes to remind high school German students and their parents that time is running out to apply for FSLA’s Berlin 2015 program. Student applications are due on May 1st, 2015.
