A MESSAGE FROM THE
CONSUL GENERAL OF GERMANY IN ATLANTA
Melanie Moltmann,
Consul General of Germany in Atlanta
The German American Cultural Foundation (GAC-F) in Atlanta is a pivotal cornerstone of the deep-rooted German-American bonds in the Southeastern United States.
Founded in 2008, the GAC-F has significantly fostered and strengthened German-American ties with projects in education and culture. Its mission, engaging the worlds of business and culture in a fruitful and mutually beneficial dialogue, is now more crucial than ever. Today, the GAC-F serves as a platform for people-to-people encounters that bridge gaps between the various cultural contexts.
Mindful of the utmost importance of intercultural understanding for strong and lasting ties between German-speaking countries and the United States, the founders and partners of the GAC-F demonstrated great foresight and leadership by supporting the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta and the German School of Atlanta. Exposure to the German language does not only open doors to a broader understanding of the world, it can also lead to more diverse career paths for young people through internships and practical training at the many German companies operating in the Southeast.
I strongly encourage the founders and partners of the GAC-F to continue their relentless efforts to foster German-American cultural relations. For the forthcoming initiatives, I wish you and your partners great success.
- Consul Melanie Moltmann
