WHO WE SUPPORT
The GACF’s primary funding focus has been the support of the following organizations and initiatives:
Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta
For nearly 50 years, the German Cultural Center has provided German Language instruction and a large variety of cultural programming that showcases cultural traditions as well as modern lifestyle trends - not just in Germany but in collaboration with all German-speaking communities.
In 2023, the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta became the first and only Kultur Ensemble in North America together with the French counterpart, the Alliance Francaise d’Atlanta. We support the intentional collaboration between Europe’s two strongest economies and Georgia through funding the arts and humanities.
The German School of Atlanta
Founded in 1983, the accredited German language program provides German language courses for children and adults and prepares students for the Deutsches Sprachdiplom (DSD) I and II.
The school community also organizes a variety of culturally relevant community events for all ages.
Atlanta Nuernberg Sister City Exchange
In 2023, we celebrated 25 years of our close Sister City relationship. Delegations from Atlanta visited Nürnberg for the festivities in the summer, and a delegation with Nürnberg’s Oberbürgermeister and city council members traveled to Atlanta in October. Stops included a visit with the Mayor of Atlanta, the Goethe-Zentrum and the GACC Annual Gala.
